What Is The Best Pickup Line?

If you've been on the dating scene for any length of time, or if you're brand-new to the scene, you're probably wondering whether or not there is one best way to meet and date women. You're probably also wondering if there is a best pickup line you can use, or what would be considered the best.

Before we start talking about the best pickup line, it might be a good idea to talk about what would be considered some of the worst pickup lines. Examples of bad pickup lines seem to abound, as everyone seems to have a story. Some examples include: "I know I don't look like much now, but I'm drinking milk." Or, "I'd marry your cat just to get in the family."

These lines are intended to hopefully get a laugh which leads to further conversation. Some of the worst pickup lines are generally sexist nature and can get you slapped. These include: "Pardon me, are you in heat?!" or "Nice legs, when do they open?" These are pickup lines that you should NEVER use as not only are they lame, they are likely to get you beaten up. And none of them are the best pickup line.

That being said, is there a best pickup line? Some say that there is. But it is not anything you'll get out of the seemingly endless array of dating and relationship help books. Some believe it is a simple word: hi. Before you start laughing there are a few things to consider regarding this word.

First, it is a neutral opening. Even if you're angry or sad, you can never be mistaken for sexist when using this word. After all, has anyone heard of being charged with harassment for saying hi? But is it the best pickup line? It certainly leaves room for the conversation to be about anything you want. From what's on the TV at the time, to what you read in the newspaper, to local concerts happening, celebrity news or sporting events, the word "hi" is a great start.

And perhaps the best pickup line is not what you may glean from a book, class, or video on dating. Maybe it isn't the word "hi." And it certainly isn't any sort of compliment you could pay him or her. That could be seen as insincere as you've not even met the person yet.

In fact, the best pickup line really isn't a line at all. It might just be the conversation started after the word "hi." After all, with almost limitless things to chat about, you may find that the best pickup line is your own opinion.
